Over to Ruby…
I love working in early education and care because becoming a child care educator has opened the door to a whole new world for me, introducing me to a field that is entirely new. Although I’ve only recently entered this profession, I know for certain that I love children—their innocence, their purity—and I especially enjoy the person I become when I’m with them.
After having my first child, I was a full-time mum for several years. During the COVID-19 Pandemic, I even started my own coffee shop, running it for over two years. I’ve always pursued what I wanted to do without hesitation and tried not to have regrets. After selling the shop, I had my second baby, which made me think about what kind of job would allow me to balance caring for my children and managing my household, while also achieving my own sense of value in my work. I am happy that I am here, as a child care educator. I want to grow alongside my children and become the one that my students can be proud of.
When I’m not at Choklits I enjoy spending precious family moments together—shopping, dining with friends, and taking my children out. During holidays, we go camping, go to the beach, riding jet skis, take road trips, hike, and explore natural scenery. After I finish work, I often take my daughter to dance Zumba and play with them at home.
The moment that has touched me the most when working with children was when I suddenly realised that all the children in my class could call out my name.
