Over to Mahya…
I love working in Early Childhood Education and Care because it allows me to foster a nurturing environment where children can thrive emotionally, socially, and intellectually. I believe that every child is unique and deserves individualised attention to support their holistic development. By instilling a love for learning and fostering a sense of curiosity, I aim to empower young minds to explore that world around them and become confident, compassionate individuals.
Throughout my career, I’ve been most proud of the moments when I’ve witnessed the transformative impact of my work on the children and families I’ve had the privilege to serve. Whether it’s seeing a child overcome a challenge, witnessing a parent’s gratitude for the support provided, or celebrating milestones in a child’s development, these moments remind me of the profound difference early childhood educators can make in shaping the future generation. Additionally, achieving certifications, attending professional development workshops, and being recognised for contributions to the field have also been significant milestones that I’m proud of.
When I’m not at Choklits I enjoy spending quality time with my family, exploring the outdoors, and engaging in creative hobbies like painting or gardening. I find solace in nature walks and weekend outings with loved ones, which rejuvenate me and provide balance to my life. Additionally, I’m passionate about staying active through sports like badminton or swimming, as they help me stay energised and focused when I return to work.
One of the cutest things a child has said to me was when a young boy proudly exclaimed, “I love you to the moon and back, Miss Mahya!” His genuine expression of affection caught me by surprise and brought tears to my eyes. It reminded me of the profound bond that forms between educators and children, transcending the boundaries of the classroom. It’s moments like these that remind me why I chose this profession and inspire me to continue making a difference in the lives of children every day.
