Ringwood 21st Feb

Friday February 21st, 2025

Hello Families,

What a wonderful week we have had at Choklits!  It’s been an absolute pleasure witnessing our little learners engaging in so many fabulous learning activities. Firstly, we would like to share some exciting news

Extended opening hours…

We are thrilled to announce that from Monday, 3rd March 2025, Choklits Ringwood will be changing our opening time to 6:30am! We’ve had a few requests to open earlier to help many of our families who start their own work days super early. So, we’ve adapted and will soon be opening our doors at 6:30am each day! Our new hours will be 6:30am-6:00pm.

Footy Tipping is back…

Our famous Footy Tipping Competition is back in 2025! To check out the prizes and to register please visit this page, where you can access the app and join in the fun!

Love Your Pet Day with Janine’s dog Hamish…

Hamish, Janine’s much loved family pet, came to visit to celebrate Love Your Pet Day with the children. The children were able to learn about how we look after pets and their needs. There were lots of laughs as Hamish spun around in pursuit of his own tail, catching it in the end. His tail provided for an interesting sensory experience as the children laughed at the tickling sensation! The children loved spending time with Hamish, and Hamish loved being around the children and getting so many pats. If you missed out on the fun, you can click here to see what they got up to. Other Highlights from This Week …

Nursery: The sandpit was the place to be for our Nursery children. This very popular destination provides the children with lots of opportunities to explore the sand incorporating buckets, spades and other scooping resources as they use their senses, making new discoveries.

Pre-Toddlers: The Pre-Toddlers enjoyed dramatic play in their very own “corner ice cream shop” which is a perfect accompaniment with the weather we are experiencing. Some of the children became shop keepers as they served their peers their ice cream of choice. This type of play enhances the children’s social and language skills and fosters imagination. The children also had a fun cooking experience making pet biscuits for Love Your Pet Day!  Hamish did a taste test and gave his paw of approval!

Toddlers: Our creative Toddlers made their own jellyfish using paper plates, googly eyes, crepe paper, and glue. They were encouraged to choose their favourite colours for the tentacles, allowing them to express their individuality and creativity. This activity not only sparked their imagination but also fostered their decision-making abilities, promoting a sense of independence.

Kinder 3: Our Kinder 3 children had a wonderful start to the week as they welcomed our special guest author, David Kight, who read his book “The Rainbow Kite That Healed the World”. The children were filled with excitement and fully engaged as he shared his story. They were especially fascinated by David’s colourful kite hat, and a few even took pictures with him afterward.

Kinder 4: The Kinder 4 children enjoyed their visit to the library.  While the group read Edward the Emu by Sheena Knowles, Sophie, our Auslan teacher, introduced us to signs for different animals from the story, which was a fun and interactive way to learn.

It’s been a week that really does show “Learning is Everywhere!”

Educator Spotlight …

The countdown is on for the exciting arrival of educator Tejal’s (from our Nursery Team) bundle of joy. Tejal’s last day before commencing her maternity leave will be Friday, 7th March. We can’t wait to meet the next addition to her family!

Kinder 4 Parent/Teacher Interviews with Elena …

Elena, our dedicated kindergarten 4 teacher, will be conducting parent-teacher interviews next week. If you haven’t had the chance to book a session yet, don’t worry! There’s still time to schedule a meeting for next week. Reach out to us via email to secure your slot and stay updated on your child’s progress.
