Hello Families,

Wow, what a busy week we’ve had! There’s been so much happening that it’s hard to fit it all into one update, but we’ll do our best to capture the highlights. From fun filled activities to special moments with the children, it’s been a whirlwind of excitement, laughter, and learning. Let’s dive into all the amazing things that made this week so memorable!

In celebration of Love Your Pet Day, we were joined by Asten’s rabbit, Rambo. This visit sparked some incredible conversations about how we care for our pets, keep ourselves safe and everything they bring to our families. The children were absolutely delighted to meet Rambo and discuss how much love and responsibility come with having animals in our homes.

We also had the privilege of celebrating National Chin Day. We have many educators from Chin heritage, and this was a wonderful opportunity to learn more about their culture. Some of our educators wore their traditional clothing, brought in special jewellery and we enjoyed tasting foods from their culture. The day was filled with stories and fascinating lessons about their rich history. We are truly blessed to have such a diverse range of cultures at our service, and we love having the chance to celebrate each one of them.

On Thursday, we had an amazing incursion for our Pre Kinders and Toddlers with Georgia from Kids Pop! The excitement was contagious as the children danced, laughed, and giggled throughout the entire session. They were completely mesmerised by the bubbles that floated through the air, and the joy was evident on their faces as they popped them with sheer delight. One of the highlights of the day was the thrilling game of bubble tennis, where the children took turns trying to keep the bubbles afloat with their hands or paddles. It was such a fun and memorable afternoon, filled with movement, music, and pure joy that the children will surely remember for a long time.

Our Kinder 4s had another fantastic bush kinder experience this week. It was the perfect day for it, with cooler weather that made exploring the reserve even more enjoyable. The children had a blast climbing trees, playing on the playground, and engaging in nature based learning. We are always so impressed by how well the children listen to their educators, and we love seeing how their independence and confidence continue to grow.

Michelle’s woodworking program kicked off with an exciting project where the children worked together to create their very own bike rack. They helped cut pipes and assemble the rack using 3D-printed T connectors. The children were proud of their work and excited to store their bikes on the rack.

Working with tools in a safe environment is essential for teaching children valuable skills. It builds confidence, attention to detail, and the ability to follow safety protocols. Beyond the technical skills, the project also encourages creativity, teamwork, and problem solving, all while giving the children a sense of pride in their accomplishment. Michelle’s program is a great way for children to learn, grow, and have fun in a supportive setting.

We also introduced our new food scraps program in partnership with Chesterfield Farm. We’ve begun collecting our fruit and vegetable scraps, which will be taken to Chesterfield Farm every week to be fed to the pigs. This is a wonderful initiative that helps us reinforce the importance of sustainability and reducing waste. We are excited to continue this program and build a stronger connection with the environment and local community.

Thank you for being such an important part of our community. We look forward to another week of learning and growing with your children!

Educator Spotlight…

This week, we want to take a moment to shine a light on our incredible Kinder 4 educator, Leanne. Since joining the Kinder 4 team in 2024, Leanne has been an absolute asset to the team.

Leanne has built beautiful, trusting relationships with the children, creating a warm and nurturing environment where they feel safe and supported. She has worked tirelessly to help the children settle into the room as they transitioned from Kinder 3, making sure each child feels comfortable and confident in their new space. Thank you, Leanne, for being such an important part of our team!
