This high quality educational program encompasses literacy, numeracy, science, art, music, and language and is under-pinned by a focus on social and emotional development. This contemporary approach to learning sets the platform for successful transition to school and successful life-long learning.

A Partnership with Parents
Parents and families are always welcome to visit Choklits Child Care Centre. Our ‘open-door’ policy encourages parents to visit us and discuss their child’s progress.
The benefits of a supportive relationship between home and Choklits cannot be over-emphasised, as children develop confidence and a healthy understanding of themselves and others in a social context which respects and recognises individual differences.
The Environment
Choklits is most often described as “homely”. We have a humongous backyard and believe in large amounts of outdoor play. When you visit Choklits you’ll hear constant laughter, children singing, playing and busy at work. Over lunch, you’ll smell the home cooking and hear young voices cooperating and planning, discussing and sharing.
Music & Movement
Music and movement are an integral part of each room’s program on a daily basis. The aim of the music program is to familiarise children with instruments, different forms of music, dancing and songs as well as group participation and interaction. Movement develops gross motor skills, co-ordination and cognitive skills. Additionally and complimentary, we offer a weekly music incursion offered by specialist outside music teachers.
Funded Kindergarten Program
Choklits has a funded four-year-old kindergarten program run by Wei Xing who holds a Bachelor of Early Childhood Education. Our Kindergarten programs are the same as council run Kindergartens and private schools. The difference is we operate from 7am to 6pm, Monday to Friday, are open 52 weeks of the year including all school holidays and cater for all family and work situations.
Governance & Our rating
At Choklits we are guided by the Education and Care Services National Regulations 2011 and Education and Services National Law Act 2010.

Facilities
The site of Choklits Child Care Centre was originally an old homestead which has now been converted into an Early Learning Centre boasting one of the biggest outdoor natural playgrounds in Melbourne.
The Nursery
Our Nursery caters for up to 10 children aged between 3-24mths, cared for by a qualified room leader and two assistants. Upon enrolment into our Nursery, parents are given routine forms to complete which help us gain knowledge and understanding about each baby’s individual routine. Our goal is to provide a warm, safe and trusting environment for the babies, making them feel at home. Educators follow the routines given by the parents and meet with parents regularly as routines change. Outside, the babies have a brand new colourful playground keeping them safe and secure. The Nursery also has a separate sleep room.
